Therapist

OFFICE LOCATION: NEW YORK

Hello there! I'm Christina, and I'm thrilled about the prospect of joining you on your journey. Allow me to share a bit more about myself: my extensive background involves working with individuals of all ages, where I've been dedicated to assisting clients dealing with a spectrum of challenges, from anxiety and self-esteem issues to navigating life transitions, family and relationship conflicts, and concerns related to child behavior.

With both personal and professional exposure to individuals diagnosed with or experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and ADHD, I bring a wealth of understanding to our sessions. I strive to create a non-judgmental space where you can explore your emotions and confront behaviors. Together, we'll delve into how your unique life experiences have shaped the person you are today, considering aspects like race, gender, sexuality, religion, and more.

In our sessions, I seamlessly integrate Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral therapy techniques to help you cope with stress. Additionally, I draw upon person-centered and psychodynamic therapy approaches to address how past experiences might be influencing your journey toward reaching your full potential.

My academic journey includes earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Hampton University, followed by a Master of Education (Ed.M.) in Mental Health Counseling from Teachers College, Columbia University. Throughout my training, I've remained committed to incorporating multiculturalism and social justice components into the realm of mental health.

My professional background spans case management within the shelter system, teaching at a child development center, and providing psychotherapy to both adults and adolescents. I am excited about the opportunity to collaborate with you on your path to well-being.
