OFFICE LOCATION : NEW YORK

“Akwaaba” (Welcome)! You’ve taken an important step toward prioritizing your mental health, and I’m honored to walk alongside you in this journey. My goal is to provide a warm, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences with authenticity and self-compassion.

My name is Juliet Adom, and I am a dedicated Mental Health Counselor committed to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with resilience and self-awareness. I believe that healing happens through connection, insight, and empowerment, and I strive to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and collaboration.

My Approach to Therapy

I take a holistic, integrative, and culturally responsive approach, tailoring each session to your unique needs and goals. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you reframe unhelpful thought patterns, Person-Centered Therapy to ensure you feel truly heard and validated, and Motivational Interviewing to support you in making meaningful changes at your own pace. Additionally, I incorporate Mindfulness-Based Techniques, Trauma-Informed Care, and Strength-Based Therapy to foster resilience, emotional regulation, and self-empowerment.

Who I Support

With over a decade of experience in social services, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults navigating a variety of concerns, including:
✔ Anxiety & Depression
✔ Trauma & PTSD
✔ Grief & Loss
✔ Life Transitions & Adjustments
✔ Self-Esteem & Identity Development
✔ Anger Management & Emotional Regulation
✔ Family & Relationship Conflicts
✔ Stress & Burnout
✔ Foster Care & Adoption Support
✔ Immigration & Acculturation Challenges

As an immigrant from Ghana who has lived in New York City for over 25 years, I understand the complexities of bicultural identity, generational gaps, and the intersection of culture and mental health. Fluent in English and Twi, and conversational in Ga, I strive to make therapy a space where diverse experiences are acknowledged, honored, and validated.

Education & Credentials

I hold a Master of Science in Education (MSEd) in School Counseling from Long Island University and an Advanced Certification in Mental Health Counseling from the University at Buffalo. My commitment to ongoing learning ensures that I stay informed about best practices in the mental health field to offer the highest level of care.
