Meet Kacia (pronunced Kay-shuh)
KACIA CAMERON, M.A., MHC-LP
Therapist
OFFICE LOCATION : NEW YORK
Hey there! My name is Kacia, pronounced Kay-shuh, and I am a proud born and raised West Coaster. I spend much of my free time traveling and discovering beautiful locations to center myself in nature. My fascination with mental health has led to a career where I dedicate my time to help others develop lasting mental hygiene. Creating space to appreciate what makes an individual unique and complex, I remain present and curious to learn about what makes you who you are, and who you want to be. Together we will take time to make meaning of your experiences, and address complex feelings and habits you wish to strengthen or reframe.
Here, you can expect empathetic support, where my culturally sensitive person-centered approach includes connecting on a transparent, candid level. My focus is on young adults experiencing depression and anxiety, and those wishing to overcome generational trauma and improve communication in relationships. I have experience with LGBTQ+ folks, those with disabilities and culturally diverse minorities. With a developed holistic approach, I integrate therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic processing. Utilizing positive psychology to identify the best parts of you is imperative for vitalizing your mental wellness.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of California, San Diego, followed by my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College. I have worked with a variety of clients, including those working through substance misuse, career development, and major life transitions. Working with individuals or couples, I am dedicated to focusing on your needs so that growth becomes less intimidating and instead, a welcomed part of your journey.
